Tinker joined our family in January 2015, and I couldn't be happier with her. She is a cheerful, outgoing girl who likes everyone she meets. She has an AKC championship, the Canine Good Citizen Certificate, and the Rally Intermediate and Novice Trick Dog titles. She earned her third leg and finished the Rally Novice title via the AKC's virtual rally testing program. In September 2021, we competed in person at the intermediate (on leash) and advanced (off leash) levels and earned a leg in each; in December 2021, we competed in two more trials at the intermediate level and completed the title.
Tinker's sire, Jack, is also the sire of Holly's first litter, which included Montana, CH Destiny's Showered With Kisses. I've loved Jack since the first time I saw him at 17 months old.
Tinker has many qualities that I like. She's "round and spanielly," with good rib spring and correct rib to loin proportion. She moves with strong reach and drive and is clean coming and going. She's the epitome of the happy, merry spaniel. At the age of 7 she has enough energy for two or three Welsh Springers.
Tinker began her show career in March 2015 in the 4-6 month puppy competition at the New England Sporting Group Association show. She was best puppy in breed and the crowd favorite in the puppy sporting group due to her antics.
She made her official AKC show debut in June in New York. At her second show, in July, she won her first point (see home page), and the next day took Best of Breed for two points, defeating adult dogs and bitches, including a champion.
At shows in the fall of 2015 she garnered several winners bitch wins for points, including her first major, and a Best of Breed over specials for a second major. In February 2016 she took winners bitch for her third major and completed her championship with 16 points.
In limited showing Tinker earned 16 Grand Champion points (25 needed for the Grand), with two majors of three required, and three champions defeated. At that point I decided to retire her. She's spayed and happy. She loves her toys, her ball, and snuggling on the couch with me.
